Deconcini nets hat trick, leads Detroit Lakes to 5-1 win over Park Rapids

Ryan Deconcini lifted the Detroit Lakes Lakers to a 5-1 victory with a hat trick against the Park Rapids Panthers.

Deconcini notched his first tally 10:47 into the first period. He then added goals at 2:02 into the third and at 9:31 into the third.

Detroit Lakes' MacKenzie Steele was a brick wall in net, as he came up with 34 saves and let only one puck past him. Steele certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 6.86 entering the contest.

The Lakers' offense rang up 33 shots on Park Rapids' net. Detroit Lakes surpassed its usual scoring output this season. The Lakers have scored at the pace of 2.8 goals per game during the current campaign.

Detroit Lakes also got points from Austin Rusness, who also had one goal and three assists. Detroit Lakes also got a goal from Kyle Herman as well. More assists for Detroit Lakes came via Taylor Magnusson, who had one and Johnathan Hallisey, who had two.

The Panthers' offense rang up 35 shots on Detroit Lakes' net.

Park Rapids was led by Luke Jaeger, who scored the team's only goal. Jaeger scored 9:11 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Detroit Lakes. Connor Kennedy provided the assist.

The Lakers incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Cody Brumbaugh rejected 28 shots on goal for the Panthers. Park Rapids incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
