Roth's hat trick boosts Warroad over Detroit Lakes, 10-2

Kobe Roth netted a hat trick to lead the Warroad Warriors over the Detroit Lakes Lakers, 10-2.

Roth's first goal came 1:07 into the first period. He then added goals at 3:45 into the first and at 7:58 into the third.

Warroad led 5-0 after the opening frame the first period and maintained a healthy margin after.

The Warriors' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Detroit Lakes power plays. Warroad kept Detroit Lakes' goalie busy throughout the game, and MacKenzie Steele made 24 saves on 34 shots. The Warriors outdid their season average for goals scored. This season, Warroad averages 7.0 goals per contest.

Warroad additionally got points from Jared Bethune, who also finished with four goals and two assists to lead the team in points and Nick Jaycox, who also had one goal and one assist. Zach Johnston also scored for Warroad. Other players who recorded assists for Warroad were Blayke Nelson, who had one, Casey Anderson, who had two, Cody Heppener, who had three, and Kyle Sylvester, who had four.

The Lakers excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances.

Detroit Lakes also got a goal from Austin Rusness as well. More assists for Detroit Lakes came via Johnathan Hallisey and Taylor Magnusson, who contributed one a piece.

Justin King rejected 18 shots on goal for the Warriors. Warroad incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Detroit Lakes incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
