Moe's big game bests Cambridge/Isanti in 4-1 Northern Lakes win

Behind a great game by Ben Moe, who had two goals and two assists, the Northern Lakes Lightning defeated the Cambridge/Isanti Bluejackets, 4-1.

Moe's tallies came on the power play at 16:56 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Northern Lakes and short handed 9:24 into the third to make the score 4-1 Northern Lakes.

Northern Lakes' Mitch Stangel was a brick wall in net, as he came up with 41 saves and let only one puck past him. The solid play of Stangel will be reflected in his goals against average, which pre-game was 4.36.

The Lightning kept Cambridge/Isanti's goalie busy throughout the game, and Jacob Sibell made 31 saves on 35 shots.

Northern Lakes additionally got points from Aspen Florey, who also registered one goal and one assist and Kegan Couture, who also finished with one goal and two assists. In addition, Northern Lakes received assists from Derrek French, who had one.

The Bluejackets forced Northern Lakes goalie Stangel to work between the pipes, taking 42 shots.

Cambridge/Isanti was led by Matt Derby, who scored the team's only goal. Derby scored 4:18 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Cambridge/Isanti. Colton Miller assisted on the tally.

The Lightning incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. The Bluejackets incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
