The Moose Lake Area Rebels had trouble finding ways to stop the Northern Lakes Lightning, which beat Rebels, 11-0.

Ben Moe was all over the ice for Northern Lakes, as he finished with two goals in the win. Moe scored at 8:29 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Northern Lakes and again while 27 seconds into the second to make the score 3-0 Northern Lakes.

The Lightning excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. Northern Lakes kept Moose Lake Area's goalie busy throughout the game, and Gage Mohelsky made 36 saves on 47 shots. The Lightning's goal total was higher than their season average. Northern Lakes averages 3.9 goals per game.

Northern Lakes also got points from Nick Olson, who also registered one goal and one assist, Austin Mesenbrink, who also grabbed one goal and two assists to lead the team in points, and Alex Galligan, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Northern Lakes included Aspen Florey, who had two and Kyle Narveson, Nick Blanchette, Derek French, and Jake Hyytinen, who scored one goal each. In addition, Northern Lakes received assists from Hunter Leslie, who had two and Dalton Rickard, Kegan Couture, Damian Jensen, and Alex Tangen, who each chipped in one.

The Rebels did not challenge the opposing netminder, only getting seven shots on net to force seven saves.

The Lightning's Mitch Stangel stopped seven shots out of the seven that he faced. Northern Lakes totaled 25 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major and went 0-for-2 on the power play. For the Lightning, Gaven Bickford was ejected from the game. Moose Lake Area ended with nine minutes in penalty time with two minors and one major.
