Park Rapids downs Bagley/Foston in overtime, 6-5 (OT)Bagley High School Thu, Feb 07, 2013 The Park Rapids Panthers pulled out a 6-5 (OT) overtime victory over the Bagley/Foston Flyers on a clutch goal by Noah Macpherson. Park Rapids came back from a four-goal deficit to capture the victory. The Panthers fell behind 5-1 after a goal by Bagley/Foston's Sean LaVine at 4:53 in the second period. Park Rapids knotted things up at 5-5 on a goal by Macpherson at 2:55 in the third period. Macpherson had a great game for the Panthers, netting five goals. Macpherson notched his first tally 11:48 into the second period. He then added goals at 13:42 into the second, at 40 seconds into the third, and at 5:46 into the fourth. Park Rapids stifled the Flyers' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Panthers kept Bagley/Foston's goalie busy throughout the game, and Andrew Gebhardt made 48 saves on 54 shots. Park Rapids found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. The Panthers have scored at the pace of 3.1 goals per game during the current campaign. Park Rapids also got a goal from Luke Jaeger as well. Other players who recorded assists for Park Rapids were Dylan Weaver, Jamie Stewart, and Kade Navritil, who contributed one a piece. The Flyers' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Park Rapids power plays. Bagley/Foston additionally got points from Aaron Leintz, who also tallied one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. Zach Thoma also scored for Bagley/Foston. More assists for Bagley/Foston came via Joshua Dukek and Christian Larson, who each chipped in one. Cody Brumbaugh recorded 17 saves for Park Rapids. The Panthers incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Bagley/Foston incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
