Park Rapids rips Greenway, 6-1Walker Sat, Feb 02, 2013 The Park Rapids Panthers were firing on all cylinders against the Greenway Raiders, and when the final buzzer sounded Panthers emerged with a 6-1 win. Park Rapids got the win with help from a great game by Ian Johnson, who had one goal and three assists. Johnson scored on the power play 1:00 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Park Rapids. Noah Macpherson assisted on the tally. Greenway was unable to stop the Panthers from sending pucks towards the net, and Park Rapids eventually piled up 41 shots on goal. The Panthers surpassed their usual scoring output this season. This season, Park Rapids averages 3.2 goals per contest. Park Rapids also got points from Frank Moren, who also registered one goal and one assist and Macpherson, who also tallied two goals and one assist. Park Rapids also got a goal from Luke Jaeger as well. In addition, Park Rapids received assists from Drew Bade, who had one, Connor Kennedy, who had two, and Jamie Stewart, who had three. The Raiders' offense operated below they season average. Greenway averages 3.5 goals per game. The Raiders were led by Darin Estey, who scored the team's only goal. Estey scored 9:44 into the second period to make the score 4-1 Park Rapids. Andrew Stish provided the assist. The Panthers' Cody Brumbaugh stopped 23 shots out of the 24 that he faced. Park Rapids incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Sam LaDoux made 35 saves for Greenway on 41 shots. The Raiders incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
