Park Rapids rips Prairie Centre, 4-1Long Prairie Expo Arena Fri, Jan 18, 2013 The Park Rapids Panthers had a two-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 4-1 win over the Prairie Centre North Stars. Park Rapids got the win thanks to a great game by Drew Bade, who had two goals and one assist. Bade scored the first of his two goals at 8:02 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Park Rapids. Connor Kennedy picked up the assist. Bade's next tally made the score 4-1 Park Rapids with 9:25 left in the third period. Luke Jaeger provided the assist. The Panthers put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Prairie Centre to score on any of its four power plays. Park Rapids kept the North Stars' goalie busy throughout the game, and Clay Deters made 40 saves on 44 shots. Park Rapids additionally got points from Kennedy, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Park Rapids also got a goal from Ian Johnson as well. In addition, Park Rapids received assists from Frank Moren, Noah Macpherson, and Jamie Stewart, who contributed one a piece. Prairie Centre managed to stay out of the box better than usual, totaling one minor for two minutes in penalty time. The North Stars wound up below its season average of 8.0 penalty minutes per game. Prairie Centre was led by Ryan Ritter, who scored the team's only goal. Ritter scored 15:33 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Park Rapids. Adam Froseth picked up the assist. The Panthers' Cody Brumbaugh stopped 18 shots out of the 19 that he faced. Park Rapids incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
