Park Rapids wins tough contest against Kittson Central, 3-2Walker Sat, Jan 05, 2013 In a game where neither team could get a cushion, the Park Rapids Panthers escaped with a 3-2 victory over the Kittson Central Wolfpack. Neither team gained more than a one-goal lead, and Luke Jaeger's goal in the third period proved to be the difference maker. Park Rapids was led by Jaeger, who racked up one goal and one assist. Jaeger scored 5:37 into the third period to make the score 3-2 Park Rapids. Connor Kennedy picked up the assist. Park Rapids additionally got points from Kennedy, who also tallied one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Frank Moren also scored for Park Rapids. More assists for Park Rapids came via Drew Bade, who had one. Kittson Central's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Park Rapids power plays. The Wolfpack did not reach the goal total they have come to expect this season. Kittson Central puts an average of 4.9 pucks into the net per game. The Wolfpack were helped by Alex Strege, who registered one goal. Strege scored 14:17 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Kittson Central also got a goal from Zach Gatheridge as well. Park Rapids incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Tucker Cosley recorded 25 saves for Kittson Central. The Wolfpack totaled 11 minutes in penalty time with three minors and one major and went 0-for-2 on the power play.
