Johnson's big game bests Bagley/Foston in 6-2 Park Rapids win

Ian Johnson had four goals and two assists to lead the Park Rapids Panthers to a 6-2 victory over the Bagley/Foston Flyers.

Johnson notched his first tally 1:41 into the first period. He then added goals at 10:38 into the second, at 15:33 into the second, and at 13:04 into the third.

Park Rapids' penalty kill excelled, as the Panthers gave up zero goals despite allowing six power plays.

Park Rapids stifled Bagley/Foston's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Panthers forced the Flyers goalie Andrew Gebhardt to work between the pipes, taking 51 shots. Park Rapids bested its season scoring average. The Panthers average 3.4 goals per game.

Park Rapids also got points from Noah Macpherson, who also tallied one goal and three assists. Park Rapids also got a goal from Frank Moren as well. In addition, Park Rapids received assists from Matt DelaHunt and Jamie Stewart, who each chipped in one.

Bagley/Foston's offense operated below it season average. The Flyers average 4.6 goals per game.

Bagley/Foston was helped by Aaron Leintz, who registered one goal. Leintz scored 9:35 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Park Rapids. Sean LaVine also scored for Bagley/Foston. Other players who recorded assists for Bagley/Foston were Lucas Olson, who had one.

Park Rapids' Cody Brumbaugh stopped 14 shots out of the 16 that he faced. The Panthers incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Andrew Gebhardt made 45 saves for the Flyers on 51 shots. Bagley/Foston incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
