East Grand Forks rips Park Rapids, 5-0

The East Grand Forks Green Wave had a three-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 5-0 win over the Park Rapids Panthers.

Tommy Hajicek was all over the ice for East Grand Forks, as he tallied one goal and two assists in the win. Hajicek scored 27 seconds into the first period to make the score 1-0 East Grand Forks. Dixon Bowen assisted on the tally.

The Green Wave forced Park Rapids goalie Cody Brumbaugh to work between the pipes, taking 55 shots. East Grand Forks' defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in two goals.

Others who scored for East Grand Forks included Kolton Aubol, who had two and Colton Poolman and Tye Ausmus, who scored one goal each.

The Panthers did not challenge the opposing netminder, only getting five shots on net to force five saves.

The Green Wave's Tanner Lindstrom stopped five shots out of the five that he faced. East Grand Forks incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors and had no power play opportunities. Cody Brumbaugh made 50 saves for Park Rapids on 55 shots. The Panthers ended with no penalties and went 0-for-2 on the power play.
