Pettit leads Wadena-Deer Creek over Bagley/Foston, 8-5

Bridger Pettit was all over the ice for the Wadena-Deer Creek Wolverines, as he tallied two goals and four assists in Wadena-Deer Creek's 8-5 win over the Bagley/Foston Flyers.

Pettit scored at 13:39 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Wadena-Deer Creek and again while 12:42 into the third to make the score 8-4 Wadena-Deer Creek.

Bagley/Foston was unable to stop the Wolverines from sending pucks towards the net, and Wadena-Deer Creek eventually piled up 41 shots on goal. The Wolverines' goal total was higher than their season average. Wadena-Deer Creek has scored at the pace of 5.2 goals per game during the current campaign. The Wolverines got an offensive boost from their blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game.

Wadena-Deer Creek additionally got points from Mitchell Swanson, who also had two goals and two assists. Wadena-Deer Creek also had goals scored by Dylan Phillips, who had one and Christian Berg, who had three. Other players who recorded assists for Wadena-Deer Creek were Shane Motschenbacher, who had one and Mike Behl, who had two.

The Flyers put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Wadena-Deer Creek to score on any of its four power plays.

Bagley/Foston was led by Aaron Leintz, who grabbed two goals. Leintz scored the first of his two goals at 4:08 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Sean LaVine provided the assist. Leintz's next tally made the score 8-5 Wadena-Deer Creek with 3:49 left in the third period. Bagley/Foston also got points from Jesse Dukek, who also registered one goal and one assist. Tyler Godin also scored for Bagley/Foston. More assists for Bagley/Foston came via Christian Larson, who had one.

The Wolverines' Wesley Janson stopped 24 shots out of the 29 that he faced. Wadena-Deer Creek incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Ben Thoma rejected 33 shots on goal for the Flyers. Bagley/Foston incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
