LaVine's hat trick boosts Bagley/Foston over Breckenridge/Wahpeton, 7-5Bagley High School Sat, Dec 08, 2012 A hat trick by Sean LaVine was the highlight in Flyers' 7-5 win against the Breckenridge/Wahpeton Blades. LaVine got on the scoresheet 8:57 into the second period. He then added goals at 5:05 into the third and at 16:56 into the third.The Bagley/Foston Flyers kept Breckenridge/Wahpeton's goalie busy throughout the game, and Michael Withuski made 30 saves on 37 shots. Bagley/Foston also got points from Aaron Leintz, who also tallied two goals and two assists. Bagley/Foston also got a goal from Brady Anderson as well. In addition, Bagley/Foston received assists from Tyler Godin, Joshua Dukek, Logan Thorson, and Zach Thoma, who contributed one a piece. The Blades stifled Bagley/Foston's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Breckenridge/Wahpeton bested its season scoring average. The Blades have scored at the pace of 2.8 goals per game during the current campaign. Breckenridge/Wahpeton was helped by Clay Bassingthwaithe, who registered one goal. Bassingthwaithe scored 9:13 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Bagley/Foston. Zach Reiff provided the assist. Breckenridge/Wahpeton additionally got points from Reiff, who also had one goal and one assist and Austin Hagstrom, who also racked up one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Tyler Gripentrog also scored for Breckenridge/Wahpeton. Other players who recorded assists for Breckenridge/Wahpeton were Sidney Chase, who had one. Andrew Gebhardt made 17 saves for the Flyers on 22 shots. Bagley/Foston incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. The Blades incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
