Bemidji downs Crookston in overtime, 4-2 (OT)

The Bemidji Lumberjacks pulled out a 4-2 (OT) overtime victory over the Crookston Pirates on a clutch goal by Matt Serratore.

Bemidji got the win on the strength of a great game by Serratore, who had two goals and one assist. Serratore scored the first of his two goals at 8:40 into the second period to make the score 2-2. Erik Fitzgerald picked up the assist. Serratore's next tally made the score 3-2 Bemidji with 6:42 left in the third period. Mike Sauer assisted on the tally.

The Lumberjacks surpassed their usual scoring output this season. This season, Bemidji averages 1.9 goal per contest.

Bemidji also got points from Brett Hartje, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Bemidji also got a goal from Ben Christopher as well. In addition, Bemidji received assists from Logan Mistic, who had one.

Crookston could not produce up to it normal offensive output. The Pirates average 4.1 goals per game. The Lumberjacks were unable to stop Crookston from sending pucks towards the net, and the Pirates eventually piled up 32 shots on goal.

Crookston was helped by Curtis Regan, who racked up one goal. Regan scored 11:16 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Crookston. Doug Larson picked up the assist. Connor Morgan also scored for Crookston. Other players who recorded assists for Crookston were Ryan Edevold and Ryan Bittner, who contributed one a piece.

Jack Schmidgall recorded 30 saves for Bemidji. The Lumberjacks avoided the penalty box for the entire game and scored one goal off of zero power plays. Parker Epema rejected 16 shots on goal for the Pirates. Crookston finished the contest with no penalties and went 1-for-0 with the man advantage.
