Thief River Falls/Goodridge falls to Breck School in overtime, 3-2 (OT)

The Breck School Mustangs' Lucas McCormick scored 3:00 into overtime to beat the Thief River Falls/Goodridge Prowlers, 3-2 (OT).

Breck School came back from a two-goal deficit to capture the victory. The Mustangs was down 2-0 after a power play goal by Thief River Falls/Goodridge's Chris Forney at 11:59 in the second period. Breck School knotted things up at 2-2 on a goal by McCormick at 15:56 in the third period.

The Mustangs could not produce up to they normal offensive output. Breck School averages 5.1 goals per game. The Mustangs forced the Prowlers goalie Tanner Holmes to work between the pipes, taking 36 shots.

More assists for Breck School came via Mark Sharp, who had two and David Husband, Thomas Lindstrom, Derek Wiitala, and Matt Colford, who contributed one a piece.

Thief River Falls/Goodridge put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Breck School to score on any of its three power plays.

The Prowlers were led by Logan Engelstad, who tallied one goal and one assist. Engelstad scored short handed 12:58 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Thief River Falls/Goodridge. Thief River Falls/Goodridge found itself down a man on Zeb Nelson's interference. Isak Bergland picked up the assist.

Henry Johnson rejected 13 shots on goal for the Mustangs. Breck School incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. The Prowlers' Holmes stopped 33 shots out of the 36 that he faced. Thief River Falls/Goodridge incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
