Thief River Falls/Goodridge survives Marshall School Duluth comeback, wins 4-2Ralph Engelstad Sat, Jan 26, 2013 The Marshall School Duluth Hilltoppers tried their best to erase a four-goal deficit, but the Thief River Falls/Goodridge Prowlers would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 4-2. Thief River Falls/Goodridge made the score 4-0 on a goal by Kael Fontaine at 12:37 in the third period, and Marshall School Duluth got as close as 4-2 when Kris McKinzie scored 16:40 into the third period. Logan Engelstad had one goal and two assists to lead the Prowlers. Engelstad scored on the power play 15:52 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Thief River Falls/Goodridge. Thief River Falls/Goodridge had gotten the advantage when the Hilltoppers' Derek Farrell was sent off for too many men. Chris Forney picked up the assist. The Prowlers put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Marshall School Duluth to score on any of its six power plays. Thief River Falls/Goodridge's offense rang up 36 shots on the Hilltoppers' net. The Prowlers' penalty killing units received substantial work throughout the game as Thief River Falls/Goodridge finished with 18 penalty minutes. In addition, Marshall School Duluth received assists from Connor Flaherty, who had one. Ryan Daniels made 21 saves for the Prowlers on 23 shots. Thief River Falls/Goodridge registered one goal on one power play opportunities. Alex Murray rejected 32 shots on goal for Marshall School Duluth. The Hilltoppers incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
