Hermantown rips Thief River Falls/Goodridge, 7-1

The Hermantown Hawks had a three-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 7-1 win over the Thief River Falls/Goodridge Prowlers.

Grant Sega was all over the ice for Hermantown, as he grabbed two goals in the win. Sega's tallies came at 1:10 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Hermantown and 12:32 into the third to make the score 6-1 Hermantown.

The Hawks put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Thief River Falls/Goodridge to score on any of its four power plays. Hermantown's offense rang up 54 shots on the Prowlers' net.

Hermantown also got points from Christian Wasbotten, who also registered one goal and one assist, Kori Ochs, who also had one goal and one assist, Zach Kramer, who also racked up one goal and two assists to lead the team in points, and Lane LeGarde, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Travis Koepke also scored for Hermantown. In addition, Hermantown received assists from Nate Pionk, who had two and Joe Muehlbauer and Bo Gronseth, who each chipped in one.

Jace Thomas made 24 saves for the Hawks on 25 shots. Hermantown incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Thief River Falls/Goodridge's Ryan Daniels stopped 47 shots out of the 54 that he faced. The Prowlers incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
