Tartan blows out Thief River Falls/Goodridge, 6-1

The Tartan Titans were firing on all cylinders against the Thief River Falls/Goodridge Prowlers, and when the final buzzer sounded Titans emerged with a 6-1 win.

Tartan's Gabe Splichal was a brick wall in net, as he came up with 37 saves and let only one puck past him. Despite the solid performance, Splichal will actually see his goals against average rise, as it stood at 0.39 entering the contest.

The Titans were led by Eric Olheiser, who registered one goal and one assist. Olheiser scored 8:36 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Tartan. Jake Picht assisted on the tally.

Tartan avoided man-down situations well, finishing with one major for five minutes in penalty time. The Titans wound up below its season average of 10.0 penalty minutes per game. Tartan's offense rang up 40 shots on Thief River Falls/Goodridge's net.

Tartan also got points from Zach Ledman, who also tallied two goals and one assist to lead the team in points and Jake Jackson, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Kevin Reddy also scored for Tartan. In addition, Tartan received assists from Michael Friberg, who had one and Mike Winberg and Brady OSullivan, who contributed two a piece.

The Prowlers' offense rang up 38 shots on the Titans' net.

Thief River Falls/Goodridge was led by Ethan Johnson, who scored the team's only goal. Johnson scored 5:40 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Tartan. Logan Johnson provided the assist.

Tartan registered three goals on six power play opportunities. Tanner Holmes recorded 34 saves for the Prowlers. Thief River Falls/Goodridge totaled 15 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major and went 0-for-1 on the power play.
