Jackson leads Tartan over Mahtomedi, 7-3

Jake Jackson had two goals and two assists to lead the Tartan Titans to a 7-3 victory over the Mahtomedi Zephyers.

Jackson's tallies came on the power play at 7:07 into the first period to make the score 1-1 and 13:02 into the first to make the score 2-1 Tartan.

Mahtomedi was unable to stop Tartan from sending pucks towards the net, and the Titans eventually piled up 39 shots on goal. Tartan outdid its season average for goals scored. The Titans have scored at the pace of 4.9 goals per game during the current campaign.

Others who scored for Tartan included Jacob Picht, who had one and Zach Ledman and Eric Olheiser, who scored two goals each. In addition, Tartan received assists from Brody Johnson, Mike Winberg, and Michael Friberg, who contributed one a piece and Rusty Axtman and Brady OSullivan, who each chipped in two.

The Zephyers' offense rang up 38 shots on Tartan's net.

Mahtomedi was helped by Tanner Mireault, who grabbed one goal. Mireault scored 5:18 into the third period to make the score 5-3 Tartan. Kellen Campbell provided the assist. Mahtomedi also got points from Jake Erickson, who also finished with one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Matt Bonine also scored for Mahtomedi. Other players who recorded assists for Mahtomedi were Mac Rathmanner and Jack Becker, who contributed one a piece.

Gabe Splichal made 35 saves for the Titans on 38 shots. Tartan incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Thomas Hennen rejected 32 shots on goal for the Zephyers. Mahtomedi incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
