Minnehaha Academy's Evenson deadly on offense in 3-1 win against Henry SibleyWest St. Paul Mon, Feb 11, 2013 The Minnehaha Academy Red Hawks relied on the scoring touch of Ryan Evenson, who netted two goals, to beat the Henry Sibley Warriors, 3-1. Evenson's tallies came short handed at 4:41 into the second period to make the score 1-1 and one second1 seconds into the third to make the score 3-1 Minnehaha Academy.Minnehaha Academy's Matt Sawyer was a brick wall in net, as he came up with 32 saves and let only one puck past him. Sawyer managed to improve on his goals against average, which stood at 4.19 prior to the game. The Red Hawks put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Henry Sibley to score on any of its three power plays. Minnehaha Academy also got a goal from Nick Terlizzi as well. In addition, Minnehaha Academy received assists from Max Hobrough, Sam Lundquist, and Josh Galkowski, who each chipped in one. The Warriors stifled Minnehaha Academy's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Henry Sibley's offense rang up 33 shots on the Red Hawks' net. The Warriors were led by Steve Malmgren, who scored the team's only goal. Malmgren scored 3:45 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Henry Sibley. Austin Westman provided the assist. Minnehaha Academy incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Cody Dornbusch made 19 saves for Henry Sibley on 21 shots. The Warriors incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
