Henry Sibley uses early goal to top Simley, 2-0West St. Paul Sat, Feb 02, 2013 Colin Gallagher scored the go-ahead goal in the first period, and the Henry Sibley Warriors held off the challenges of the Simley Spartans in a tough 2-0 win. Henry Sibley took over the lead for good with a goal by Gallagher at 3:20 in the first period. The Warriors had gotten the advantage when Simley's Ben Rauschnot was sent off for elbowing. Ben Sather picked up the assist.Henry Sibley's penalty kill excelled, as the Warriors gave up zero goals despite allowing six power plays. Henry Sibley was led by Gallagher, who tallied one goal and one assist. The Warriors stifled the Spartans' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Henry Sibley's defensive play was more effective than usual against Simley. The Warriors average 2.7 goals allowed per game. Henry Sibley could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 14 minutes in penalties during the game. Henry Sibley also got a goal from Austin Westman as well. Other players who recorded assists for Henry Sibley were T.J. Lang, who had one. The Spartans did not reach the goal total they have come to expect this season. Simley averages 2.1 goals per game. The Warriors' Cody Dornbusch stopped 23 shots out of the 23 that he faced. Henry Sibley registered two goals on five power play opportunities. Zach Boughton recorded 18 saves for the Spartans. Simley incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
