Tartan wins tough contest against Rochester Lourdes, 4-2

In a game where neither team could get a cushion, the Tartan Titans escaped with a 4-2 victory over the Rochester Lourdes Eagles.

Each team kept the other at bay throughout the game, and Rusty Axtman secured the win for Tartan with a goal in the third period.

Brady OSullivan had one goal and two assists to lead the Titans. OSullivan scored 6:59 into the third period to make the score 4-2 Tartan. Jake Kurschner provided the assist.

Tartan managed to stay out of the box better than usual, finishing with one minor for two minutes in penalty time. The Titans finished below its season average of 7.0 penalty minutes per game.

Tartan also got points from Jake Jackson, who also racked up one goal and two assists. Tartan also got a goal from Zach Ledman as well. Other players who recorded assists for Tartan were Jake Picht and Michael Friberg, who contributed one a piece.

Rochester Lourdes managed to stay out of the box better than usual, racking up one minor for two minutes in penalty time. The Eagles wound up below its season average of 11.0 penalty minutes per game.

Rochester Lourdes was helped by Cody Cossette, who grabbed one goal. Cossette scored 44 seconds into the second period to make the score 2-0 Rochester Lourdes. Jason Samuelson assisted on the tally. Ben Weir also scored for Rochester Lourdes. In addition, Rochester Lourdes received assists from Griffen Buck and Griffen Slightham, who each chipped in one.

Gabe Splichal rejected 18 shots on goal for Tartan. The Titans registered zero goals on one power play opportunities. The Eagles' Jack Berkel stopped 26 shots out of the 30 that he faced. Rochester Lourdes registered zero goals on one power play opportunities.
