Richfield rolls over St. Paul Highland Park, 8-1Richfield Thu, Jan 03, 2013 The Richfield Spartans had a three-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to an 8-1 win over the St. Paul Highland Park Scots. Richfield managed to stay out of the box better than usual, racking up one minor for two minutes in penalty time. The Spartans finished below its season average of 9.0 penalty minutes per game. Richfield forced St. Paul Highland Park goalie Howie Sands to work between the pipes, taking 68 shots. The Spartans outdid their season average for goals scored. Richfield averages 3.5 goals per game. The Spartans were helped by Zach Kruegar, who racked up two goals and one assist. Kruegar scored the first of his two goals at 13:06 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Richfield. Kruegar's next tally made the score 6-1 Richfield with 6:49 left in the third period.
