The Mahtomedi Zephyers relied on the scoring touch of Matt Bonine, who netted two goals, to beat the Rogers Royals, 7-3.

Bonine scored at 31 seconds into the second period to make the score 2-2 and again while short handed 5:11 into the second to make the score 4-2 Mahtomedi.

Mahtomedi also got points from Jake Erickson, who also registered one goal and one assist, Trevor Keeney, who also grabbed one goal and one assist, and Mac Rathmanner, who also finished with two goals and two assists to lead the team in points. Mahtomedi also got a goal from Kellen Campbell as well. In addition, Mahtomedi received assists from Zack Taylor, Cosimo Yapello, and Jack Becker, who each chipped in one.

Rogers was helped by Branden Cecil, who racked up one goal. Cecil scored 1:41 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Rogers. Nate Weber also scored for Rogers. More assists for Rogers came via Brandon Spah, who had one.

Colin Denis recorded 20 saves for Mahtomedi. The Zephyers totaled 23 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major and went 1-for-2 on the power play. Blake Ternus made 23 saves for the Royals on 30 shots. Rogers incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
