Mickelson leads St. Paul Academy/Mounds Park Acad over Simley, 7-2Simley High School Thu, Nov 29, 2012 Behind a great game by Jared Mickelson, who had one goal and two assists, the St. Paul Academy/Mounds Park Acad Spartans defeated the Simley Spartans, 7-2. Mickelson beat Mike Sarantos with a shot 4:38 into the second period on the power play to make the score 3-1 St. Paul Academy/Mounds Park Acad. St. Paul Academy/Mounds Park Acad earned a power play opportunity when Nick Kemp was put in the box for charging. Drew Blackmum assisted on the tally. Mickelson dished an assist on Blackmum's goal that made the score 1-0 St. Paul Academy/Mounds Park Acad at 11:25 into the first period. He added another helper on Blackmum's goal that made the score 2-1 St. Paul Academy/Mounds Park Acad at 3:02 into the second period.Simley's power play was ineffective against the Spartans' penalty kill, which allowed one goal while shorthanded.
