Farmington blows out Bloomington Kennedy, 5-2Bloomington Ice Gardens 1 Sat, Feb 09, 2013 The Bloomington Kennedy Eagles had trouble finding ways to stop the Farmington Tigers, which beat Eagles, 5-2. Farmington managed to stay out of the box better than usual, racking up one minor for two minutes in penalty time. The Tigers wound up below its season average of 7.0 penalty minutes per game. Farmington kept Bloomington Kennedy's goalie busy throughout the game, and David Johnson made 38 saves on 43 shots. The Tigers were led by Grady Hauswirth, who finished with two goals. Hauswirth scored the first of his two goals at 4:57 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Farmington. John Siebenhaler picked up the assist. Hauswirth's next tally made the score 4-2 Farmington with 15:37 left in the second period. Siebenhaler provided the assist. Farmington also got points from Jack Erickson, who also tallied one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Tanner Grubb also scored for Farmington. More assists for Farmington came via Erik Holmstrom, who had two and Justin Novak, John Donnelly, Kevin Olund, and Dallas Tucker, who each chipped in one. The Eagles forced their penalty killing units to work especially hard during the game, picking up six minors and one major for 17 minutes in penalty time. Bloomington Kennedy had been averaging 12.0 minutes in penalties per game. The Eagles excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in six chances. Farmington was unable to stop Bloomington Kennedy from sending pucks towards the net, and the Eagles eventually piled up 32 shots on goal. Bloomington Kennedy was led by Hank Roers, who grabbed two goals. Roers scored the first of his two goals at 7:07 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Farmington. David Johnson picked up the assist. Roers' next tally made the score 2-2 with 19:37 left in the second period. Jacob Wells assisted on the tally. Other players who recorded assists for Bloomington Kennedy were Conor Jensen, who had one. Gage Overby rejected 30 shots on goal for the Tigers.
