Huge game by Samuelson boosts Rochester Lourdes over New Prague, 4-1Rochester: Graham Arena 1 Sat, Feb 09, 2013 The Rochester Lourdes Eagles' Jason Samuelson had a big offensive game, scoring one goal and contributing three assists in his team's 4-1 win over the New Prague Spartans. Samuelson scored 1:23 into the third period to make the score 3-1 Rochester Lourdes. Samuelson dished an assist on Alex Funk's goal that made the score 1-1 at 6:37 into the first period. He then added assists on Griffen Slightham's goal at 9:09 into the second and on Griffen Buck's goal at 2:36 into the third.Rochester Lourdes stifled New Prague's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Spartans were unable to stop the Eagles from sending pucks towards the net, and Rochester Lourdes eventually piled up 42 shots on goal. Rochester Lourdes also got points from Funk, who also finished with one goal and two assists and Slightham, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. New Prague put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Eagles to score on any of their four power plays. The Spartans were led by Ben Witt, who scored the team's only goal. Witt scored 2:07 into the first period to make the score 1-0 New Prague. Nick Sampson provided the assist. Rochester Lourdes' Jack Berkel stopped 20 shots out of the 21 that he faced. The Eagles incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Evan Bisek recorded 38 saves for New Prague. The Spartans incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors.
