New Prague erases deficit to stun Academy of Holy Angels, 5-3

The New Prague Spartans climbed out of a three-goal hole to beat the Academy of Holy Angels Stars, 5-3.

New Prague never led in the game until netting the game winner. The Spartans was down 3-0 after a goal by Academy of Holy Angels' Marshall Barnes at 6:13 in the second period. New Prague knotted things up at 3-3 on a goal by Jack Pexa at 8:37 in the third period. The Spartans scored the game winner at 13:48 in the third period on a goal by Pexa.

Austin Kilian and Austin Isaacson provided the spark for New Prague, combining for three goals and two assists. Kilian had two goals and Isaacson also added one goal and two assists.

The Spartans' offense rang up 35 shots on the Stars' net.

New Prague additionally got points from Isaacson, who also tallied one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. New Prague also got a goal from Cody Shimota as well. More assists for New Prague came via Alex Gregor, who had two and Cody Meyer, Ben Witt, and Seth Kriha, who contributed one a piece.

By firing 44 shots on goal, Academy of Holy Angels exceeded the 1.0 shot it averages per game this year.

In addition, Academy of Holy Angels received assists from Frankie Mork and Parker Loving, who each chipped in one and Andrew Willner and Mario Bianchi, who contributed two a piece.

New Prague's Evan Bisek stopped 41 shots out of the 44 that he faced. The Spartans incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Nik Schmitz rejected 30 shots on goal for the Stars. Academy of Holy Angels incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
