Bianchi nets hat trick, leads Academy of Holy Angels to 8-1 win over Red Wing

A hat trick by Mario Bianchi was the highlight in Stars' 8-1 win against the Red Wing Wingers.

Bianchi got on the scoresheet 14:25 into the first period. He then added goals at 10:24 into the second and at 13:30 into the second.

The Academy of Holy Angels Stars led by only one goal at the end of the first period, but put the game away by scoring four goals in the second.

Academy of Holy Angels was led by goalie Nik Schmitz, who finished with 29 saves while allowing one goal. Schmitz certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 6.08 entering the contest.

The Stars' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Red Wing power plays. Academy of Holy Angels surpassed its usual scoring output this season. This season, the Stars average 5.3 goals per contest. Academy of Holy Angels' offense was clicking better than usual and put 64 shots on goal during the game, better than the 1.3 shot per game it averages.

Academy of Holy Angels also got points from Andrew Willner, who also tallied one goal and one assist, Tony Haeg, who also registered two goals and three assists, Marshall Barnes, who also had one goal and one assist, and Nick Ryan, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Other players who recorded assists for Academy of Holy Angels were Parker Loving, who had one and Frankie Mork and Ryan Gazich, who contributed two a piece.

Red Wing struggled on the penalty kill, allowing the Stars to score two power play goals on three chances.

The Wingers were led by Ryan Rehder, who scored the team's only goal. Rehder scored 7:47 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Academy of Holy Angels. Tristan Rehder assisted on the tally.

Academy of Holy Angels incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Preston Blaney recorded 56 saves for Red Wing. The Wingers ended with 11 minutes in penalty time with three minors and one major.
