Red Wing uses early goal to top Farmington, 1-0

The Red Wing Wingers took the lead against the Farmington Tigers in the first period and maintained it until the end of the game to secure a tight 1-0 victory.

Red Wing took over the lead for good with a goal by Alex Rezansoff at 14:33 in the first period. The Wingers had gotten the advantage when Farmington's Kevin Olund was sent off for interference. Kyle LaPorte provided the assist.

Red Wing was sparked by Rezansoff, who registered one goal.

The Wingers managed to stay out of the box better than usual, finishing with one minor for two minutes in penalty time. Red Wing finished below its season average of 9.0 penalty minutes per game.

The Tigers were held below their usual level of production. Farmington averages 3.2 goals per game.

Preston Blaney recorded 22 saves for the Wingers. Red Wing registered one goal on four power play opportunities. The Tigers' Gage Overby stopped 20 shots out of the 21 that he faced. Farmington incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors.
