Huge game by Bianchi boosts Academy of Holy Angels over Shakopee, 8-2

Mario Bianchi was all over the ice for the Academy of Holy Angels Stars, as he tallied one goal and three assists in Academy of Holy Angels' 8-2 win over the Shakopee Sabers.

Bianchi scored 6:13 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Academy of Holy Angels. Marshall Barnes provided the assist. Bianchi dished an assist on Barnes' goal that made the score 5-0 Academy of Holy Angels at 5:19 into the second period. He then added assists on Owen Larson's goal at 5:32 into the second and on Barnes' goal at 12:30 into the second.

The Stars' goal total was higher than their season average. Academy of Holy Angels has scored at the pace of 5.2 goals per game during the current campaign. The defensemen of the Stars were also effective in Shakopee's zone, and came away with two goals. Academy of Holy Angels put 39 shots on net during the contest, more than the 1.1 it averages per game.

Academy of Holy Angels additionally got points from Barnes, who also racked up two goals and two assists to lead the team in points. Others who scored for Academy of Holy Angels included Nick Ryan, who had one and Ben Haeg, who had two. More assists for Academy of Holy Angels came via Frankie Mork, who had four and Andrew Willner and Justin Cover, who contributed two a piece.

The Sabers excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances.

Shakopee was led by Sam Scott, who finished with two goals. Scott scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 11:28 into the second period to make the score 7-1 Academy of Holy Angels. The Sabers earned a power play opportunity when Shon Jordan was put in the box for interference. Ethan Sievek assisted on the tally. Scott's next tally on the power play made the score 8-2 Academy of Holy Angels with 12:00 left in the third period. Shakopee had taken the advantage when the Stars' Scott McNamara got sent off for hooking. Bubba Kubes picked up the assist.

Zack Mains made 14 saves for Academy of Holy Angels on 16 shots. The Stars ended with 11 minutes in penalty time with three minors and one major. The Sabers' Andrew Lyon stopped 31 shots out of the 39 that he faced. Shakopee totaled nine minutes in penalty time with two minors and one major and went 2-for-4 on the power play.
