Cloquet Esko Carlton rolls over New Prague, 6-3

The Cloquet Esko Carlton Lumberjacks were firing on all cylinders against the New Prague Spartans, and when the final buzzer sounded Lumberjacks emerged with a 6-3 win.

Beau Michaud was all over the ice for Cloquet Esko Carlton, as he tallied two goals and one assist in the win. Michaud scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 2:58 into the first period to make the score 1-1. The Lumberjacks had gotten the advantage when New Prague's Austin Kilian was sent off for elbowing. Weston Michaud picked up the assist. Michaud's next tally on the power play made the score 5-3 Cloquet Esko Carlton with 3:15 left in the second period. Dalton Johnson assisted on the tally.

Cloquet Esko Carlton put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Spartans to score on any of their four power plays. With 40 shots on target during the contest, the Lumberjacks exceeded the 2.6 shots they average per game this year.

Cloquet Esko Carlton additionally got points from Michaud, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Cloquet Esko Carlton also got a goal from Koby Bender as well. Other players who recorded assists for Cloquet Esko Carlton were Sean Kedrowski, who had two and Tanner Robideaux and Eric Peterson, who each chipped in one.

New Prague was helped by Kain Wagner, who registered one goal. Wagner scored 1:22 into the first period to make the score 1-0 New Prague. Ben Witt also scored for New Prague. In addition, New Prague received assists from Cody Meyer, who had two.

Cloquet Esko Carlton's Zack Strom stopped 14 shots out of the 17 that he faced. The Lumberjacks incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Evan Bisek recorded 34 saves for the Spartans. New Prague incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
