Yon's hat trick boosts Roseau over Academy of Holy Angels, 8-3

Zach Yon lifted the Roseau Rams to an 8-3 victory with a hat trick against the Academy of Holy Angels Stars.

Yon's first goal came 10:51 into the first period. He then added goals at 14:49 into the second and at 16:22 into the third.

Academy of Holy Angels trailed by one after the first period, but Roseau went into the second intermission with a 6-2 lead and never looked back.

The Stars were unable to stop the Rams from sending pucks towards the net, and Roseau eventually piled up 38 shots on goal. The Rams bested their season scoring average. Roseau averages 4.4 goals per game. The Rams took advantage of Academy of Holy Angels' penalties, tallying two goals off of three power play opportunities.

Roseau additionally got points from Alex Strand, who also racked up two goals and one assist, Dylan Mielke, who also tallied one goal and one assist, and Tanner Okeson, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Roseau also got a goal from Corey Olson as well. More assists for Roseau came via Brady Castle, who had three and Alex Halstensgard, Isaac Magnusson, Alex Ziegler, and Austin Hogenson, who each chipped in one.

The 27 shots that the Stars put on net surpassed Academy of Holy Angels' average of 2.6 shots per game this season.

The Stars were helped by Owen Larson, who had one goal. Larson scored 10:43 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Academy of Holy Angels. Joe Sullivan assisted on the tally. Justin Cover also scored for Academy of Holy Angels. In addition, Academy of Holy Angels received assists from Frankie Mork, Andrew Willner, Mario Bianchi, Ben Haeg, and Scott McNamara, who contributed one a piece.

Ryan Anderson recorded 24 saves for Roseau. The Rams incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Academy of Holy Angels' Nik Schmitz stopped 30 shots out of the 38 that he faced. The Stars incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
