Scofield's big game bests Chaska in 6-3 Northfield winChaska Community Center Thu, Dec 20, 2012 The Northfield Raiders' Andrew Scofield had a big offensive game, scoring two goals and contributing one assist in his team's 6-3 win over the Chaska Hawks. Scofield found the back of the net 7:21 into the first period to make the score 1-1 and again while 11:04 into the first to make the score 2-1 Northfield.Northfield's offense rang up 38 shots on Chaska's net. The Raiders' goal total was higher than their season average. Northfield averages 3.5 goals per game. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals. Northfield additionally got points from Taylor Freiermuth, who also had one goal and one assist and Torr Legvold, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Northfield also got a goal from Logan VonRuden as well. More assists for Northfield came via Nathan Scofield, who had two and Andrew Carroll and Jacob Noel, who contributed one a piece. The Hawks managed to stay out of the box better than usual, registering one minor for two minutes in penalty time. Chaska finished below its season average of 10.0 penalty minutes per game. The Raiders were unable to stop the Hawks from sending pucks towards the net, and Chaska eventually piled up 33 shots on goal. The Hawks were helped by Garrett Paulzine, who grabbed one goal. Paulzine scored 6:33 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Chaska. Cade Gersich assisted on the tally. Derek Annett also scored for Chaska. Other players who recorded assists for Chaska were Jake Halsne, Carter Schmidt, Austin Hardy, and Andrew Henke, who each chipped in one. Northfield's Spencer Jones stopped 30 shots out of the 33 that he faced. The Raiders incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Blake Jackson made 32 saves for Chaska on 38 shots. The Hawks registered one goal on two power play opportunities.
