In a game where neither team could get a cushion, the Hopkins Royals escaped with a 3-2 victory over the Chanhassen Storm.

Hopkins gained the winning advantage on a goal by Matthew Anderson 9:51 into the third period and hung on until final buzzer.

The Royals were paced by Anderson, who racked up one goal.

By firing 27 shots on goal, Hopkins exceeded the 4.6 shots it averages per game this year.

Hopkins also got points from Jim Copouls, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Jonah Shoemaker-Gagnon also scored for Hopkins. In addition, Hopkins received assists from Joshua Laven, who had two.

Chanhassen excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances.

The Storm totaled 34 minutes in penalty time with two minors and two majors and went 0-for-2 on the power play. Team's Jack Spillers and Bever were slapped with misconducts and ejected from the game.
