Chaska beats Dodge County 5-3 after comeback scareDodge County FSA Fri, Dec 14, 2012 The Chaska Hawks survived a determined comeback attempt by the Dodge County Wildcats on the way to a 5-3 win. Chaska made the score 5-1 on a goal by Derek Annett at 10:31 in the third period, and Dodge County got as close as 5-3 when Sam Robinson scored 13:31 into the third period. Brooks Wineberg was all over the ice for the Hawks, as he tallied one goal and two assists in the win. Wineberg scored 13:05 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Chaska. Josh Winslow picked up the assist. Chaska stifled the Wildcats' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Hawks forced Dodge County goalie Mitch Sobotta to work between the pipes, taking 38 shots. Chaska additionally got points from Cade Gersich, who also registered one goal and one assist. Chaska also got a goal from Carter Schmidt as well. More assists for Chaska came via Mitch Kirchoff and Garrett Paulzine, who contributed one a piece. The Wildcats' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on five Chaska power plays. Dodge County was helped by Kylo Courteau, who finished with one goal. Courteau scored 2:09 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Chaska. Robinson assisted on the tally. Dodge County also got points from Tanner Dufault, who also tallied one goal and two assists and Robinson, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Other players who recorded assists for Dodge County were Thor Knutson, who had one. Chaska's Blake Jackson stopped 24 shots out of the 27 that he faced. The Hawks incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Sobotta recorded 33 saves for the Wildcats. Dodge County incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
