Casey Busch gave the New Prague Spartans the lead in the first period, and the Mahtomedi Zephyers was never able to catch up in a close game that ended 2-0.

New Prague took over the lead for good with a goal by Busch at 14:17 in the first period. A holding penalty on Cosimo Yapello had put the Spartans on the power play. Nick Sampson provided the assist.

New Prague was led by Busch, who tallied one goal.

The Spartans' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on five Mahtomedi power plays. New Prague featured an improved defense during the game. The Spartans average 3.0 goals allowed per game.

New Prague also got a goal from Jordan Lein as well.

Mahtomedi was held below its usual level of production. The Zephyers average 4.3 goals per game.

Evan Bisek rejected 18 shots on goal for New Prague. The Spartans incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Thomas Hennen recorded 19 saves for Mahtomedi. The Zephyers incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
