Chanhassen falls apart in second, loses to Bloomington Jefferson, 6-1

The Bloomington Jefferson Jaguars scored three goals in the second period to pull away from the Chanhassen Storm and clinch a 6-1 win.

Collin Hernon had one goal and two assists to lead Bloomington Jefferson. Hernon scored 10:07 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Bloomington Jefferson. Jono Lindquist picked up the assist.

Chanhassen's power play was ineffective against the Jaguars' penalty kill, which allowed one goal while shorthanded.

The Storm were unable to stop Bloomington Jefferson from sending pucks towards the net, and the Jaguars eventually piled up 47 shots on goal. Bloomington Jefferson could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 20 minutes in penalties during the game.

Bloomington Jefferson additionally got points from Lindquist, who also tallied two goals and one assist. Bloomington Jefferson also had goals scored by Ryan Freese, who had one and Johnny Panvica, who had two. More assists for Bloomington Jefferson came via Tyler Johnson, who had two and Jack Weiss and Zac Beek, who contributed one a piece.

Chanhassen excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances. The Storm could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 18 minutes in penalties during the game.

Chanhassen was led by Logan Wilkinson, who scored the team's only goal. Wilkinson scored on the power play 15:20 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Bloomington Jefferson. The Storm earned a power play opportunity when Hernon was put in the box for roughing. Jake Theis provided the assist.

The Jaguars' Grant Martens stopped 16 shots out of the 17 that he faced. Erik Anderson rejected 41 shots on goal for Chanhassen.
