Rezansoff, Hanson lead Red Wing over Chaska, 7-4Chaska Community Center Thu, Feb 14, 2013 Behind one goal and two assists from Alex Rezansoff and two goals and one assist from Taylor Hanson, the Red Wing Wingers downed the Chaska Hawks 7-4. Rezansoff scored 13:40 into the second period to make the score 5-3 Red Wing. Michael Bigelbach picked up the assist. Hanson scored the first of his two goals at 11:20 into the second period to make the score 3-3. Dylan Goggin provided the assist. Hanson's next tally made the score 4-3 Red Wing with 6:39 left in the second period. Rezansoff assisted on the tally.Red Wing put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Chaska to score on any of its three power plays. The Wingers' offense rang up 33 shots on the Hawks' net. Red Wing outdid its season average for goals scored. The Wingers have scored at the pace of 2.3 goals per game during the current campaign. Red Wing got an offensive boost from its blueliners, who contributed three goals during the game. Red Wing also got points from Hanson, who also grabbed two goals and one assist and Bigelbach, who also tallied two goals and one assist to lead the team in points. Red Wing also got a goal from Kyle LaPorte as well. More assists for Red Wing came via Jack Gorman and Tyler Rea, who contributed one a piece. Chaska kept the Wingers' goalie busy throughout the game, and Preston Blaney made 28 saves on 32 shots. The Hawks were led by Brooks Wineberg, who finished with two goals. Wineberg scored the first of his two goals at 13:30 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Andrew Henke picked up the assist. Wineberg's next tally made the score 2-2 with 12:41 left in the second period. Derek Annett assisted on the tally. Carter Schmidt also scored for Chaska. In addition, Chaska received assists from Kyle Hoyt and Josh Winslow, who each chipped in one. Red Wing incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Blake Jackson made 26 saves for Chaska on 32 shots. The Hawks incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
