Erickson's goals lift Farmington to 3-1 victory over Shakopee

Jack Erickson was all over the ice for the Farmington Tigers, as he tallied two goals in Farmington's 3-1 win over the Shakopee Sabers.

Erickson's tallies came short handed at 8:03 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Farmington and 10:28 into the third to make the score 3-1 Farmington.

The Tigers were led by goalie John Seurer, who finished with 29 saves while allowing one goal. Despite the solid performance, Seurer will actually see his goals against average rise, as it stood at 1.18 entering the contest.

Farmington pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 25 penalty minutes.

Corey Rudrud also scored for Farmington. More assists for Farmington came via Zach Colaw, Justin Novak, Justin Hyytinen, and Dallas Tucker, who each chipped in one.

Shakopee was forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as it racked up 14 penalty minutes.

The Sabers were led by Cullen Sievek, who scored the team's only goal. Sievek scored on the power play 14:22 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Sheldon Miks picked up the assist.

The Tigers registered zero goals on two power play opportunities. Shakopee's Andrew Lyon stopped 25 shots out of the 28 that he faced. The Sabers registered one goal on six power play opportunities.
