Chris Benson was all over the ice for the Hermantown Hawks, as he tallied two goals and two assists in Hermantown's 7-2 win over the Red Wing Wingers.

Benson's tallies came short handed at 8:17 into the second period to make the score 3-0 Hermantown and 14:02 into the second to make the score 4-1 Hermantown.

The Hawks forced Red Wing goalie Preston Blaney to work between the pipes, taking 63 shots. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals.

Hermantown also got points from Bo Gronseth, who also registered one goal and one assist, Neal Pionk, who also had one goal and one assist, and Jared Zeleznikar, who also racked up one goal and three assists. Hermantown also got a goal from Luke Jacques as well. More assists for Hermantown came via Lane LeGarde, who had one and Ryan Carlson, who had two.

The Wingers' offense were handcuffed by Hermantown's defensive play, and Red Wing managed only 13 shots on goal during the game.

The Wingers were helped by Dylan Goggin, who grabbed one goal. Goggin scored 13:48 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Hermantown. Alex Rezansoff assisted on the tally. Red Wing additionally got points from Sam Hanson, who also finished with one goal and one assist. In addition, Red Wing received assists from Michael Bigelbach, who had one.

Jace Thomas recorded 11 saves for the Hawks. Hermantown incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Red Wing's Blaney stopped 56 shots out of the 63 that he faced. The Wingers incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
