Chanhassen survives Farmington comeback, wins 4-2

The Chanhassen Storm survived a determined comeback attempt by the Farmington Tigers on the way to a 4-2 win.

Chanhassen made the score 4-1 on a goal by Ryan Schwarz at 48 seconds in the third period, and Farmington got as close as 4-2 when Erik Holmstrom scored 6:04 into the third period.

Jake Bever had two goals to lead the Storm to victory. Bever found the back of the net 15:31 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Chanhassen and again while on the power play 13:22 into the second to make the score 3-1 Chanhassen.

Chanhassen put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Tigers to score on any of their six power plays. The Storm could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 28 minutes in penalties during the game.

Chanhassen also got a goal from Bryson Burkholder as well. More assists for Chanhassen came via Cole Robertson, who had one and Jake Theis and Logan Wilkinson, who contributed two a piece.

Farmington struggled to stay out of the sin bin throughout the game as it finished the game with 14 penalty minutes for five opposing power plays.

The Tigers were helped by Dallas Tucker, who registered one goal. Tucker scored 5:24 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Chanhassen. Holmstrom provided the assist. Farmington also got points from Holmstrom, who also finished with one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. In addition, Farmington received assists from Kevin Olund, who had one and Justin Novak, who had two.

Erik Anderson rejected 26 shots on goal for Chanhassen. Austin Krause recorded 14 saves for Farmington.
