New Prague wins tough contest against Farmington, 4-2

The game between the New Prague Spartans and the Farmington Tigers was tight through all 60 minutes, but in the end New Prague emerged with a 4-2 win.

No lead was more than two goals during the contest, and the winning goal was scored by Jack Pexa at 8:55 of the third period.

The Spartans were led by Pexa, who had one goal.

New Prague managed to stay out of the box better than usual, tallying one minor for two minutes in penalty time. The Spartans ended up below its season average of 9.0 penalty minutes per game. New Prague was effective with a man advantage, and put in three goals while on the power play. The Spartans got an offensive boost from their blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game.

New Prague additionally got points from Cody Meyer, who also grabbed one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Jake Klein also scored for New Prague. More assists for New Prague came via Lucas Binger, Alex Gregor, Ryan Drazan, and Seth Kriha, who contributed one a piece.

Farmington was helped by Jack Erickson, who finished with one goal and one assist. Erickson scored 12:21 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Justin Novak picked up the assist. Farmington also got points from Novak, who also tallied one goal and one assist. In addition, Farmington received assists from Tanner Grubb and Dallas Tucker, who each chipped in one.

Evan Bisek rejected 22 shots on goal for New Prague. Gage Overby recorded 20 saves for the Tigers. Farmington incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
