Waconia rebounded from a three-goal deficit to tie Chaska, 3-3 (OT).

The Wildcats forced the Hawks goalie Blake Jackson to work between the pipes, taking 40 shots.

Waconia was led by Tanner Riebel, who tallied two goals. Riebel scored the first of his two goals short handed at 15:00 into the first period to make the score 3-1 Chaska. An interference call on Matt Fulkerson put the Wildcats on the penalty kill. Riebel's next tally short handed made the score 3-2 Chaska with 14:25 left in the second period. Sam Schiffman assisted on the tally. Ryan Mattson also scored for Waconia. Other players who recorded assists for Waconia were Ben Kullman and Kevin Kittleson, who each chipped in one.

Chaska's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on five Waconia power plays. Waconia was unable to stop the Hawks from sending pucks towards the net, and Chaska eventually piled up 44 shots on goal.

The Hawks were helped by Austin Hardy, who registered one goal. Hardy scored 5:00 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Chaska. Cade Gersich provided the assist. Chaska additionally got points from Brooks Wineberg, who also had one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Chaska also got a goal from Derek Annett as well. More assists for Chaska came via Carter Schmidt, Josh Winslow, and Andrew Henke, who contributed one a piece.

Nathan Kovach made 41 saves for the Wildcats on 44 shots. Waconia incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Jackson recorded 37 saves for Chaska. The Hawks incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
