Minnetonka rips Chanhassen, 6-0

The Minnetonka Skippers were firing on all cylinders against the Chanhassen Storm, and when the final buzzer sounded Skippers emerged with a 6-0 win.

Minnetonka was led by Jared Ridge, who tallied one goal and one assist. Ridge scored 5:19 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Minnetonka. Max Coatta picked up the assist.

The Skippers managed to stay out of the box better than usual, totaling one minor for two minutes in penalty time. Minnetonka ended up below its season average of 10.0 penalty minutes per game. By firing 50 shots on goal, the Skippers exceeded the 1.9 shot they average per game this year.

Minnetonka also got points from Tommy Vannelli, who also registered one goal and one assist, Coatta, who also had one goal and two assists to lead the team in points, Charlie Huminski, who also finished with one goal and one assist, and Tommy Brandabur, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Jimmy Schuldt also scored for Minnetonka. In addition, Minnetonka received assists from Jack Ramsey, who had two and Connor Thie and John Schuldt, who each chipped in one.

Chanhassen did not challenge the opposing netminder, only getting 10 shots on net to force 10 saves.

Paul Ciaccio recorded 10 saves for Minnetonka. The Skippers registered one goal on two power play opportunities. Harlin Paradise made 44 saves for the Storm on 50 shots. Chanhassen incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
