The Chaska Hawks relied on the scoring touch of Austin Hardy, who netted two goals, to beat the Shakopee Sabers, 2-1.

Hardy found the back of the net 14:03 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Chaska and again while 8:30 into the second to make the score 2-1 Chaska.

Chaska managed to stay out of the box better than usual, tallying one minor for two minutes in penalty time. The Hawks finished below its season average of 9.0 penalty minutes per game.

Shakopee was led by Sam Scott, who scored the team's only goal. Scott scored 3:37 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Bubba Kubes picked up the assist.

Blake Jackson rejected 17 shots on goal for Chaska. The Hawks registered zero goals on two power play opportunities. The Sabers' Sean Surbaugh stopped 27 shots out of the 29 that he faced. Shakopee incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
