Chaska outlasts Le Sueur-Henderson/St. Peter, 4-2Le Sueur Community Center Tue, Dec 11, 2012 The Chaska Hawks and the Le Sueur-Henderson/St. Peter Bulldogs were evenly matched throughout their contest, but Chaska made the most of its opportunities and won, 4-2. Neither team gained more than a two-goal lead, and Cade Gersich's goal in the third period proved to be the difference maker. Carter Schmidt was all over the ice for the Hawks, as he tallied one goal and three assists in the win. Schmidt scored short handed 16:25 into the third period to make the score 4-2 Chaska. Chaska's offense rang up 51 shots on Le Sueur-Henderson/St. Peter's net. The Hawks' defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in two goals. Chaska additionally got points from Mitch Kirchoff, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Austin Hardy also scored for Chaska. The Bulldogs were helped by Jonny Favre, who had one goal. Favre scored 13:08 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Le Sueur-Henderson/St. Peter. Brett Zallek assisted on the tally. Le Sueur-Henderson/St. Peter also got a goal from Austin Braun as well. In addition, Le Sueur-Henderson/St. Peter received assists from Luke Regner and Brock Solomon, who each chipped in one. Blake Jackson made 18 saves for Chaska on 20 shots. The Hawks totaled 19 minutes in penalty time with two minors and one major and went 0-for-2 on the power play. Chris Amsden recorded 47 saves for Le Sueur-Henderson/St. Peter. The Bulldogs incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
