Bloomington Kennedy wins tough contest against Chanhassen, 3-2

The Bloomington Kennedy Eagles gutted out a close 3-2 win against the Chanhassen Storm.

No lead was more than one goal during the contest, and the winning goal was scored by Grant Skophammer at 8:43 of the third period.

Bloomington Kennedy was sparked by Skophammer, who had one goal.

The Eagles excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances.

Jacob OKeefe also scored for Bloomington Kennedy. In addition, Bloomington Kennedy received assists from Michael Jost, who had two and Brad Hinrichs, Conor Jensen, and Jacob Roers, who contributed one a piece.

Bloomington Kennedy was unable to stop Chanhassen from sending pucks towards the net, and the Storm eventually piled up 31 shots on goal.

Chanhassen was led by Logan Wilkinson, who registered one goal and one assist. Wilkinson scored 10:01 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Bryson Burkholder assisted on the tally. Chanhassen also got a goal from Cody Seal as well. Other players who recorded assists for Chanhassen were Jack Spillers and Jake Theis, who each chipped in one.

The Eagles' David Johnson stopped 29 shots out of the 31 that he faced. Bloomington Kennedy totaled 13 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major and went 1-for-6 on the power play. Erik Anderson made 21 saves for the Storm on 24 shots. Chanhassen ended with 28 minutes in penalty time with four minors and two majors.
