Nelson's hat trick boosts Shakopee over Robbinsdale Cooper, 7-2New Hope North Thu, Dec 06, 2012 The Robbinsdale Cooper Hawks could not stop the Shakopee Sabers' Nick Nelson, who tallied a hat trick in a 7-2 win. Nelson's first goal came 9:09 into the first period. He then added goals at 3:39 into the second and at 10:59 into the second.Shakopee excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. The Sabers' goal total was higher than their season average. This season, Shakopee averages 4.0 goals per contest. The Sabers could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 14 minutes in penalties during the game. Shakopee also got points from Ben Jasper, who also registered one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Shakopee included Sheldon Miks, who had one and Nate Kreuser, who had two.
