South St.Paul's Krey deadly on offense in 3-1 win against Red Wing

Behind a great game by Ben Krey, who had two goals, the South St.Paul Packers defeated the Red Wing Wingers, 3-1.

Krey scored at 3:08 into the third period to make the score 2-1 South St.Paul and again while 7:55 into the third to make the score 3-1 South St.Paul.

South St.Paul was led by goalie Grant Amelse, who finished with 27 saves while allowing one goal. Despite the solid performance, Amelse will actually see his goals against average rise, as it stood at 1.18 entering the contest.

The Packers' offense rang up 31 shots on Red Wing's net.

South St.Paul additionally got points from Brendan Shanley, who also finished with one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Other players who recorded assists for South St.Paul were Jake Hill, who had one and Jack Pietruzews, who had two.

The Wingers were led by Ryan Rehder, who scored the team's only goal. Rehder scored 3:06 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Red Wing. Anthony Kimmes picked up the assist.

South St.Paul avoided the penalty box for the entire game and scored zero goals off of zero power plays. Red Wing's Adam Defore stopped 28 shots out of the 31 that he faced. The Wingers ended with no penalties and went 0-for-0 on the power play.
