Totino-Grace squeaks by Rochester Lourdes, 3-2

The Totino-Grace Eagles gutted out a close 3-2 win against the Rochester Lourdes Eagles.

Totino-Grace gained the winning advantage on a goal by Kai Barber 1:09 into the third period and hung on until final buzzer.

Carter Roo had two goals to lead the Eagles to victory. Roo scored at 17 seconds into the first period to make the score 1-0 Totino-Grace and again while 16:44 into the second to make the score 2-2.

Totino-Grace's offense operated below it season average. The Eagles put an average of 5.2 pucks into the net per game.

Other players who recorded assists for Totino-Grace were Charlie Miller, Connor Schmidt, TJ Roo, Derek Lodermeier, and Blake Vagle, who contributed one a piece.

Rochester Lourdes put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Totino-Grace to score on any of its three power plays.

The Eagles were helped by Griffen Buck, who had one goal. Buck scored 2:14 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Kane Carstens provided the assist. Jason Samuelson also scored for Rochester Lourdes. More assists for Rochester Lourdes came via Alex Funk and Griffen Slightham, who each chipped in one.

Rory Davidowski made 26 saves for the Eagles on 28 shots. Totino-Grace incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors. Rochester Lourdes' Jack Berkel stopped 25 shots out of the 28 that he faced. The Eagles incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with two minors.
